Strength training and scoliosis might not seem like an obvious match, but the right approach can make a world of difference. In this episode, I’m joined by Dr. Beth Terranova, a physical therapist, strength coach, and founder of Strength and Spine. As someone who has scoliosis herself and has competed in Olympic-style weightlifting, Beth brings a unique perspective on how strength training can be a powerful tool for spinal health.
We break down the benefits of strength training for scoliosis, the role of the Schroth Method, and why movement matters even after spinal fusion. Beth also addresses common misconceptions, shares practical advice for getting started, and sheds light on the gaps in scoliosis physical therapy.
If you’ve ever wondered how to move safely and effectively with scoliosis, this episode is packed with valuable insights!
